| Reports from March and an Apology. First of all im going to say hello to everyone again and start off my apologising for neglecting the site over the past months since March. It all started with my laptop getting damaged and then contracting a virus that decided it would be nice and helpful and more or less clean my whole computer of everything that i had ever created and well it deleted anything that was on the hard drive basically. It took me until now to get it sorted and even still im working off my brothers laptop while i re-install vista! Its good to be back anyway. ![]() I also want to apologise for how brief this report is going to be cause i quite frankly can't remember too many details ![]() Soon after my birthday my granda decided he had enough with all my tackle taking up his shed so i went for it and bought myself a small shed that just about fits it all in! for the price of it it really is well constructed. ![]() The first session after this new shed ended up in going to the local for a few species for the hunt and i was successful in getting 4.5 points! I fished the river that leaves the lake with maggot at a depth of about 1.5ft and managed to catch a stickleback, a perch and roach! ![]() ![]() ![]() At the same time of course me being me had a rod out for the pike and a had a few nice fish! ![]() ![]() ![]() These fish just scraped into doubles if i remember rightly. There were numerous pike sessions between the above and my next report none containing any notable fish, just fish to high singles. This next report is one that made my month and maybe my 2011! It was the capture of my first Northern Irish tench. You may think that's not much of a challenge but over here it really is! It was a really hot day, possibly the hottest of the year. So we set off early and got the rods out. Baited up with corn and 8mm tutti frutti boilies we were having little luck and it must have been about noon that i changed over to some boillies i had been given in England and told they were 'secret recipe'. so i set it up with a 'snowman presentation' and it wasnt long until i had a run and it proved to be a PB tench and also my first from NI! ![]() ![]() It just scraped 5lbs. We left that venue at around 3 and headed to a large lake to explore on the float tubes and i had around 10 small jack pike. Unfortunately for the life of me i cant find the photos from the session! ![]() The net session of note was about 3 weeks ago and it seen the first double double in a session for me so it was also a milestone in my fishing ![]() We spent the night at a large local lough and didnt have a sniff during the night but it was at around 9pm i had a run on a roach head i had out for eels over night. it stripped about 30ms of line off the reel and i really believed i was into a PB fish it really fought like a train. It reached the bank i knew it wasn't that PB but it was still a nice fish. The next fish came around 20 mins later to eel section. It gave a great account for itself, it hit the net and was also a good fish. They were 13.11 and 14.1 respectively and put a huge smile on my face. ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() The next stepping stone since ive been away was the capture of my first pug nosed pike! its a bit of a strange milestone but it was something i had always wanted to catch. ![]() It was only on monday night past that i had a trip to the 'dark side' and went sea fishing ![]() I did enjoy myself though and i was just trying to pick up a few small species for the hunt. I only managed pollock and coalfish. Nothing huge but it made a nice change to recent trips. ![]() ![]() ![]() That should hopefully be me back for good and it feels good to be back! Hope everyone is well. __________________ Blackwater Tackle Supplies Keep Ulster's Waters Healthy, Practice Catch and Release! |
