June 16th - River Fishing in the Westcountry So June 16th is just around the corner, I personally cannot wait, I will be dusting down the float rods, stick floats and centre pin for a bash on my local rivers. I will be mainlly fishing the Parrett at Langport and the Tone in Taunton but will also be trying to break my poor streak on the Culm (banked both attempts at Killerton in the depths of winter) and also the Exe and perhaps the Creedy. Where will the rest of you from the Westcountry be heading?

Re: June 16th - River Fishing in the Westcountry Many years ago I used to be based at Yeovil when I was in the fleet air arm but I didn't know about the fishing around there. I was more interested in the women and booze in that stage of my life. My local rivers are the river Lee the river Ivel and the river Colne. __________________ My Web Site (The Average Coarse Angler) Happiness is Fish Shaped (It used to be woman shaped but the wifes getting on a bit now)

Re: June 16th - River Fishing in the Westcountry What is the Yeo like at Mudford, quite a few Chub? How about other stretches of the Yeo, the weir at Yeovilton any good and U/S of the A30 Sherborne Road Bridge?

Re: June 16th - River Fishing in the Westcountry mudford is a cracking little club. the waters are generally small but there is good chub fishing with some cracking river carp to be had! (if they dont rip you apart upon hooking!). overall the yeo is becoming much cleaner and the fishing much more improved. yeovilton weir has its moments, but in clear water you can see how shallow it really is, worth stalking a few chub from under the bridge in clear water though!

Re: June 16th - River Fishing in the Westcountry Do they only have the Yeo above and below Mudford or do they have other waters too? Where is the U/S and D/S limits on the Yeo for the Mudford Club? Does anyone have the rights on the Cam?

Re: June 16th - River Fishing in the Westcountry I got out on the River Culm at Killerton Thursday and had a good day with plenty of Dace, odd small chub and Roach and a rogue Brown Trout. Friday I headed to the River Tone above Taunton and had lots of Brown Trout, plagued with them like minnows which is not what I wanted when I was hoping for some Chub, Dace, Grayling and Roach.
