Town parks

As the better half was away for the wk end I decided to give town parks the first trip off the year. I'm still after my cat so I was armed with worm, halibut and crab.

I was greeted to the views of spawning fish this wS not looking good.

My nephew came with me again so he could show me how to catch a cat.
My left hand rod went under a tree to right baited with a hallibut and crab boilie tipped with purple corn. I didn't even have time to set the lone Nd bobbin the rod was flying into the lake. I managed to grab it just in time after a 10 min battle a pristine 14.5pm common graced the spreader block. I baited the boat back up and under the tree it went again. I placed another rod tight to the island. At 7pm the tree Mark screamed of and little 10lb common was at the spreader block.

We ordered or Chinese and waited for it to be delivered which took 45 mins! Was not all that great either!

By now it was cat time boilies worm and luncheon were all out and traps set. I was getting alot of liners all night the at 1.30am my right hand rod tore off on luncheon meat! The fish was not happy and banging it's head alot. I've never hooked a cat but I was sure this was it! When it surfaced another carp again 14lb mark. Sound weird but not happy I was praying it was a cat.

Boat reloaded and back out by the over flow. At 5am all he'll broke lose I had a screaming run form the island. Again another carp at 13lb. So rod all baited and sent back out. I was talking to a friend leaving my 10 year old nephew in charge. 10 mins later a yell of "tyson im in and its big" came accross the lake. After a brutal battle my nephew had his new pb carp of 14.9lb. He was well chuffed. We took some pics sent the boat back out. I was talking to jerry the owner when another shout of "im in" came up. A noce little 12lb mirror was o the bank. This also happened again.

Between 5 am and 11am sunday I had banked six carp. My nephew was over the moon. Got some great pics will post when on pc.

In all a session to remember my nephew well and truly hooked now. We had alot of intrest as to tactics as we were the only ones catching. But that I'd fishing. A few anglers were idiots and spoded almost on top of my rigs! As I was leaving in 30mins I didn't say anything but was hacked off. If I was there for longer it would have been different.
