| Newbridge Lake - Hull 07-08 may After a 50 mile trip my bro and I arrived at Newbridge lake for a 24 hour carping session. The weather was ok with the occasional shower but by morning it hammered it down. The lake is really beautiful and well kept and the owner has a magnificent house over looking the lake and they were more than happy to come and talk to us. Heres a few pics of the lake. The owners house ![]() nice weather ![]() next day pi##ing down ![]() Any way I baited a few areas with some hemp and sweetcorn and a few boilies and fished a safe running ledger with boilie and pellet bait, but to cut a long story short I never had a run apart from the odd bleep from the smaller nibblers. But luckily I had my feeder rod with me so managed a few points on maggot feeder. Perch ![]() roach ![]() This one Im not sure about maybe you could help me Dace maybe or a hybrid ?? ![]() I decided to get my head down about 23:30 and sods law my brother ben had a screaming run as soon as I started to get to sleep. After a good fight by ben(considering it was his first big fish )the line snapped at the net.. needless to say he was gutted, I managed a glimpse as it crashed the surface and I reckon he lost a 20 at least. Back to bed feeling gutted for ben.... no more runs in the night. Woke up to the rain belting down on my bivvie but mangaed to drag my arse out and re-cast. After that the sun came out so we dried out kit while we had the chance and call it a day. I will definately be returning here in the near future and try and bag myslef one of their 30 + carp they boast (In my Dreams). I dont think the strong winds weve had helped things but hey thats fishing ! __________________ Species 2011.. Common carp,Mirror carp,Pike,Rudd,Dace,Eel,Bream,Perch,Roach,Barbel, Chub |

| Re: Newbridge Lake - Hull 07-08 may good effort on scratching some points mate. looks like a lovely venue, wouldn't mind living in that house. its got its own peg behind it too. shame about your bro losing the fish. __________________ If it was easy, it would be called catching. | Re: Newbridge Lake - Hull 07-08 may Last Pic looks as though it could be a Roach/Bream Hybrid, used to catch loads of them in the Kennet and Avon in Hungerford. Second to last pic looks more Rudd than Roach, those fins are well bright. |
