Puddle fishing

With all the strong southerlies blowing on Friday evening off to the pub it was

. There a plan was hatched to go and fish a localish pond that I have not been to or fished in over 20 years

Saturday morning was a run around of collecting bait and tackle oh and breakfast - good old MacDonald’s.
We got to the pond for about ten and set up. The pond was just how I remembered it apart from being a bit over grown.
The last time I fished it it had a few roach and Rudd, a good head of curcian carp and a few commons, mirrors and tench.

First cast and a bite instantly which resulted in a Rudd, this was followed by them on every bait from corn, maggot and meat! Yes meat.

Had a bit of a wander round and managed to winkle out a perch.

Saw a few carp milling about under some overhanging branches and could not resist it, so a nice size chunk of meat was placed. You could see the carp swimming around and nosing the bait - forgot what this was like real heart in mouth stuff. After about twenty minutes one of them nailed it and after a nice scrap this mirror was on the bank.

We had one other mirror out and loads more Rudd. The Curcian didn’t show but hey-ho that’s fishing.
