no luck this time Being the fine weather angler that I am and being out at the farm anyway,I decided to dip my rods for the first time this year. Had only three hours but gave it a go. Up at the lake there was another guy fishing and just as I came he landed a nice common, about 8-10lb.So they were about. Drove around to the other side of the lake(my usual spot)tackle up and cast sideways into a bay, again as usual. The guy on the other side called out for my to lift my rod so that he could pull in his tackle.NOW it really beat me why folk think the fish is always on the other side, have they not heard of watercraft,do they not realise that most of the time the best fish patrol the margins? However, although the time was pleasant enough, nothing came to the net this time, still there's always next week.

Re: no luck this time Also my pb carp came from the margins. People cast out to islands and the far banks because of the features and ignore those right in front of them. Odd.

Re: no luck this time Nice to know I'm not the only one who thinks the way I do,just out of interest,a pal of mine fishes where this guy was fishing,he float fishes with pelets just about six feet out and regularly catches fish in double figures.
