langdale lakes/local 06-04-11

Hello all,
Today I decided to give langdale lakes a try near Lincoln, firstly a bit about the lake....
It Is a caravan/ camping site with two medium size lakes lilly and willow, willow is full of silvers, tench, crucians and barbel and lilly holds a decent head of carp to around 27lb.
I must say this has got to be one of the best kept lakes i have been to, the banks are tidy and cut back ,the warden is friendly and helpful and best of all there are no scrotes only serious anglers.

views from my peg

I decided to give willow a try for a nice carp. I set one rod up with a stick of groundbait and oiled sweetcorn baited with boilie and fake corn. the second rod had a small feeder baited with fake and real corn.
As soon as I cast the boilied rod I had a run resulting in this little dinner plate mirror of around 3lb

The carp started coming to the surface after this so I tries some floating pellets to no avail.. they just wernt interested.

I then begain to hear rustling noises about a meter to my left.. I looked over and saw a 2 foot long snake!! Im assuming it was a grass snake as it didnt have the markings of an adder thank fook. I followed it for a minute and it disapeard in the scrub.
The lake was alive with cruising carp but they were just not playing ball for anyone so I decided to pack up early and have an hour on my local lake, Here I fished a piece of floating bread and caught two small common carp in just under an hour.

heres one of em

I didnt get the carp I was after but the lake was lovely and the weather was gorgeous so A good day allround.
