| what a lovely day i spent the day at tyler hill fishery today just outside canterbury, got there at 7 and settled in a favourite corner of mine close to some overhanging trees and some interesting marginal features, it started off chilly but comfortable, my companions for the day les and pete settled into adjacent swims and we waited, a bit slow to begin with,a few roach and skimmers were showing, then at about 9 my carp bait of 3 bits of meat on a hair shot off,a very lively fight ensued and was eventually expertly netted by my faithful ghillie Les, it hit the scales at 17lb ![]() the next couple of hours were busy with plenty of skimmer bream and roach to 3/4 lb coming up, all this time i had been sprinkling a few dog biscuits around and once the sun came out they started to be taken, i eventually got a fish on a floater it was a common of about 8lb, ![]() as the afternoon progressed i began putting my light quiver tip rig into the corner under the trees baited with meat and was rewarded with 2 beautiful ghost carp,1 of about 8lb and 1 of about 10lb,they gave me a complete runaround on 4lb line + size 16 hook, ![]() ![]() les and pete did well, les had scores of bream and finished off with a 3lb perch while pete had a 15lb common and a big ghostie along with lots of other bits i had a super day and even caught a little sun the sort of day that lifts your spirits and makes it all worthwhile |
