| What did I catch Hi All, Went to Longshaw Lakes near Caterbury today. It was dry but overcast with little or no wind. After getting some advice from the owner and nearly getting bitten by his alsatian, I found my spot on the main lake and set up. To start with it was really frustrating, had 2 rods out, one on corn and the other on maggot. I was getting bite after nibble after bite but they just wouldn't take the bait confidently enough to get hooked. My bite alarms were on almost constatly. I changed tactics to size 12 hairs with corn and half boilies, this finally started to work. I landed my first ever chub and rudd and some good size roach. i caught about 10 fish in total, the chub being the biggest. can someone cofirm my catches from the pics. me holding a chub,  the dark fish is a rudd  and the rest are roach ? some of them had a light blue tint to their shoulders...    all in all a good day, i Will catch my first double figure fish soon....  __________________ I snagged.., 5lb tench, 25.3lb common, 16.4lb mirror , 2.2lb roach, 4 lb chub and 10lb Ghost.     |

| Re: What did I catch well done mate those roach are monsters, not sure about the first one being a rudd, though( i may be wrong as its been a while since i fished for silvers) the chub's a definite. great fishing and nice report __________________ If it was easy, it would be called catching. | Re: What did I catch I fished Longshaw last Saturday and between my uncle and I we had 18 carp and 7 roach! Was well chuffed... the biggest was 9lb. Well jealous of the chub though!!!!! Heard there are barbel coming out too!!! :) |
