| Re: River Frome Well all I can say is the less said the better. It was a complete disaster from the off. I started my car whilst I went down to my garage to get my rods and tackle out. By the time I came back I noticed the car was no longer running. Out of fuel :-( I knew the gauge was suspect but I didn't think it was that bad. So I called up Roger to come and pick me up and head out to Wool. Arrived about 40 minutes later and the river looked lovely. Got all our gear out, wellies and waterproofs on, rods and reels set up only to find that I had forgotten my tackle box. I had everything else except hooks in my bag. I asked a couple of fellow anglers if they had any spare hooks but alas none. So we headed back to my house in Weymouth as all the other local tackle shops outside of Weymouth were shut. An hour an twenty minutes later we were back to square one. By this time the wind had picked up making casting with light lines very difficult. The flow was also a bit too fast for trotting. The only anglers catching were those using feeders. Guess what I didn't have any feeders with me. So several lessons learned today. No matter how experienced you are you can still make school boy errors. Never leave your tackle box at home and be prepared for a change of tactics. I am surprised that there were no other anglers on the bank who would let you have a few hooks, what a lot of tight sods ! ![]() __________________ My Web Site (The Average Coarse Angler) Happiness is Fish Shaped (It used to be woman shaped but the wifes getting on a bit now) |

| Re: River Frome Whose water is that Pirate. I think that Wareham have winter rights further downstream but don't know it that far up. BTW. I can't believe that no-body else had spare hooks. |
