I Received A Phone Call Earlier In The Week From Banana Steve Asking If Myself And Cindy Fancied A Trip To Todber Manor On Saturday As He Needed To Get Out And Wet A Line. Desperatley Needing To Get Out Myself I Jumped At The Chance. We Arranged To Meet At Steve's For 8am Saturday Morning.

I Checked The Weather Friday Night And It Was Predicting Light Rain Till Mid Day And Strong Winds.

We Woke Saturday Morning With It Very Over Cast And Windy But No Rain. We Arrived At Steve's At 7.45am And Loaded The Car And Headed Off To Todber With A Quick Stop At The Local Tesco Express For Suppies.

We Arrived At Todber Manor To Collect Are Tickets, Which Was Nice To Find It Was Buy One Get One Free. We Both Also Brought Some Maggot To Use As Bait.

We Decided To Fish With The Fir Trees To Are Back To Try And Keep The Wind Off Our Backs.

Steve Set Up To The Left Of Me Fishing The Pole And Cindy Starting Set Up To The Left Of Steve But Decided On A Better Peg More Out Of The Wind To The Right Of Me, Meaning I Was In The Middle.

I Started By Fishing The Pole In The Middle Of The Lake. Bites Were Far And Few Between. I Was Catching Roach Around The 3oz Mark. After About 1 And A Half Hours It Got Really Difficult Battling The Wind In The Middle Of The Lake So I Started To Pre-bait The Marging To The Left And The Reids To My Right, While I Was Baiting The Reids To My Right I Noticed Cindy Looked Fed Up. I Went Over To See How She Was Going. She Hadnt Caught Anything And Was Finding It Really Hard Going Fishing The Waggler In The Wind. I Told Her To Come Over And Try The Pole In My Swim, She Was Slightly Reluctant At First, Shes Never Wanted To Fish The Pole Before. I Talked Her Through What To Do And Stood Behind Her While She Waited For Her First Bite.

Cindy Has Had A Fear Or Maggots Since She Started Fishing And Wont Even Hold A Bait Box With Maggots In, So I Had To Bait The Hook For Her. She Fished My Pre-baited Spot To The Left And Straight Away Into A Small Roach. She Kept Picking Up Small Roach And Rudd. I Suggested She Up The Feed To Try And Feed Off Some Of The Small Fish. After About 10 Mins She Hooked Into A Larger Roach.

Over The Coarse Of The Day She Managed A Quite A Few Larger Rudd And Roach

Even Manged A Good Skimmer Bream.

Im Very Proud Of Cindy She Tried Pole Fishing For The First Time And Managed Very Well, Catching Some Really Nice Fish, She Even Conquered Her Fear Of Maggots, By The End Of The Session She Was Even Baiting Her Own Hook With Maggots.

I Did Only Manage A Couple Of Hours Fishing Myself As Someone Stole My Seat Box And Wouldnt Give It Back Or My Pole But I Did Manage A Few Fish.

We Both Caught Rudd And Roach By The End Of The Day Between 8 And 10oz

We All Enjoyed Our Days Fishing, I Know Steve Managed Some Species For This Years Species Hunt. We Will Be Back In The Summer To Get Some Crucians And Those Beautiful Golden Tench.

Now Cindy Can Fish The Pole Its Something I Now Have To Go And Purchase For Her, More Expence.
