River Cherwell walkabout and Chub. Ventured out last Sunday on the Kidlington stretch of the Cherwell, even though it was brass monkey weather, and had a roving day fishing quite a few pegs for the chance of the chub that may still feed in the sub zero temperatures. Result was, chillblains on me poor feet, two lumps on breadflake from noted chub swims. One went 4lbs 9ozs and the other 5lbs 2ozs as I took my sling and scales with me. Just wish I had a camera as they were fin perfect and in excellent condition. Two weeks ago I had one out at 6lbs dead on too. They are there but you have to move around to find them but you know all about it when you do as the rod wrenches over alarmingly so you are not in any doubt when they bite. It's either hit em or not a bite as nothing else is feeding in this cold. I'll be out again soon with a bl***y camera too.

Rovings a great technique for Chub. I like to walk the river feeding each peg with luncheon meat & then walk back & fish them a while later. Looks like roving paid off for you. Great brace of fish.... __________________ Don't Judge My Path If You Haven't Walked My Journey...

Caught these two last Saturday on the St Marys Chruch stretch. 3lbs 12ozs ans 1lb 6ozs. Missed a couple of pulls too, on breadflake. Cold as hell but a good walk and not too many dog walkers to contend with, you know, the ones who let theirs off the leash and the damn things knock you over but theyr'e only saying "hello" yeah thanks mate!! Oh, must look up how to post photos!! ![]()
