Exeter canal - plus be aware of wheel clamping too..

Went down Exeter canal today. Northerly wind most of the day, and it got bright and sunny about 1100 onwards which didnt help (forecast indicated it would be dull and cloudy for good part of the day) Despite previous catches of a couple of pike in recent months, and several follows last week by some big pike, I didnt even see a fish today. No takes, follows or anything. Tried shallow lures, deep lures, bright lures, dark lures, natural lures, shads, savage lures, spro lures - not a sniff! Still some weed in the canal - a lot of it is right in the middle just under the surface which is a pain, as you cant see it and messes up your retrieves when using diving lures.
Also for the locals - Swans nest carpark - Due to the council doing some work on the canal bank, they have left a digger, and huge pile of rocks and earth on one half of the carpark which means you cant park in that area (usually about 6 spaces) so everyone is parking on the right hand side of the carpark. There are 3 disabled bays there and about 6 non disabled bays. Due to shortage of spaces 3 people parked in the disabled bays whilst they went for a walk along the canal, and came back to find all 3 vehicles clamped. They called the clamping company who said they would be there in about 2 hours!!! Luckily I wasnt one of them, but just to bear in mind in future, as although the carpark is in the middle of nowhere, the clampers still check it out.
