Float Tubing my Local and the New Quarry

Just a few snap shots, had 3 pike on the tube and one from the bank at my local. Had no camera with me on the tube and was at the other end of the lake from my dad so we couldn't get photos of them, ranged from 5-9lbs. The one from the bank was 9lbs.

These pics are from the secret quarry i fished yesterday, had loads of nice rudd, was great to be in the crystal clear water with shoals of rudd over 100 strong swimming around you. Every detail was visible, their lovely golden scales to their blood red fins. Had the same problem, left camera on the bank so no rudd pics! The quarry was a lovely place yet a very eerie place to fish, was about 50-60ft deep feet from the bank so my friend who fished from their was forced to wear a life jacket by me! No trout for us even though we seen them jumping, just about 40/50 rudd all about 3/4lb. A great days fun out on the water (apart from the rain!)

Sheer Drop

Mate that quarry wouldnt happen to be anywhere near my house would it? There's one that looks EXACTLY like that 1.5 miles up the road from me. I dont think there's any fish in it though!?!?

Re: Float Tubing my Local and the New Quarry

a 20? I'd be happy with an 8 at the minute! lol. I've gave it up now anyway, at the minute my goal is to catch a decent bream of 4lb or more. There was a 7lb'er taken from loughgall last week and my mate was out last thursday and caught a nice looking one, but he didnt have scales to weigh it. So that's my main goal at the minute. I've another mate who goes down to Cavan pike fishing in the early morning, so Im gonna wait til his next trip and head down with him for a pike session
