| Turkish's fresh water catch report Do not get too excited. Long story short cut. Only one fish. And that is how the day has gone: I did not want to drive to south. But I could not resist fishing action. I went to angling shop in Windsor to get some advise and gear. I got size 8 and 14 hooks, maggot and wieghts. Then i went to Staines to get my 2 rods repaired. Top sections were broken. They have repiared them for 13.90 (Is it good price?) Then I drove to Chertsey for some action in Thames. It was weird to use maggot with size 14 hooks. After couple of hours I have caught one fish which is below.  It is not bad for very first fresh water fishing. This is the venue.  I had some maggots left. I left them under the car in the container. If they are still alive, I might use them tomorrow in the Thames again. BTW very first thing for fresh water fishing I have done is buying the rod licence from post office. Next time I might use boilies and corn with size 8 hooks instead of maggots.     |

| Re: Turkish's fresh water catch report depends what you wanna catch but they are a tad large ;-) size 8 is fine for very large carp, the biggest hook I use is size 10/12 and that will land a 20lb carp just fine ;-)) it was more the fact you took size 14 (which is fine) and then jumped to a size 8 ;-) I would stick to you size 14 mate, if I dident live soooo far from the sea I would deffo go from fresh to salt ;-)) Matt __________________ There he stands, draped in more equipment than a telephone lineman, trying to outwit an organism with a brain no bigger than a breadcrumb, and getting licked in the process. |
