Some After Work Research, Good Result Too Sometimes on my way home from work I pass I nice little syndicate owned pond. ![]() Anyway, as the weather was good today I thought I'd stop off and have a poke around. As it turns out, the local parish council have taken ownership once again, and the pond is now open to fishing, there is a notice board explaining the rules of the pond. There was evidence of plenty of activity too, at one corner where some debris had been blown by the wind it was plain to see some Carp of approx 12-14" long lurking around, you could make out there shadowy forms in the water. Also, there is a structure about 7m from the side, where much activty could be seen, with tell tale eddys and swirls in the water, I've tried to capture them with my phone camera. ![]() ![]() I think, whilst the weather is being kind, it would be rude not to stop off for a couple of hurs tomorrow & try my luck with the waggler, some corn, maggots & pellets.

Re: Some After Work Research, Good Result Too Looks like a nice pool, I would love to try fishing it in the evening and into darkness up until midnight or thereabouts when it gets quiet. __________________ My Web Site (The Average Coarse Angler) Happiness is Fish Shaped (It used to be woman shaped but the wifes getting on a bit now)

Re: Some After Work Research, Good Result Too OK, so I knocked of work a couple of hours early and got to the lake. Started with wahhler, on a size 14, with mixed magget, the reds got the best results bagging a couple of dozen of these in the first hour, this was about the smallest, up to aboy twice this size. If anyone can help ID the speceis that would be great, I'm learning. ![]() Then decided to get of the new quiver tip rod & TFG Classic Reel, with a 1oz weight (freerunning) & size 14 with a single peice of cheepo Co-op sweetcorn. Less than 60s passed and I was into this...... ![]() Several more about the same size, then the wind dropped & I decided to pop right under the willow tree an the island about 12m out, again, leger & a single piece of corn, 2 mins later........ ![]() There were some 7-8lb Carp coming of from the swim to my right also to sweetcorn on the waggler.

Re: Some After Work Research, Good Result Too I'm popping back again tomorrow with the youngest daughter. She'll have the 3m pole on maggot, just so she catches, I'll try hair rigged tiger nut on the feeder rod, maydee with a PVA bag for good measure.

Re: Some After Work Research, Good Result Too The 1st pic looks like a Roach, I cant see its lips or its dorsal fin but the colouring looks like a Roach. The other shots are of Skimmer Bream, which turn a brown colour as they get bigger. NB. There is another Bream called a Silver Bream which has much larger eyes but I don't think they are Silver Bream but I could of course be wrong. Nice Little lake __________________ My Web Site (The Average Coarse Angler) Happiness is Fish Shaped (It used to be woman shaped but the wifes getting on a bit now)
