Re: todays match

Do you know how he did it jools?.

We had a guy join our club and do a similar thing, He used to come first even when he arrived late and had the last number in the draw bag.

He turned out to be a great bloke and very aproachable and basically all he did was fish with 3, 4 or 5 pints of fresh caster in open water and get the bream and Tench preoccupied on the waggler. Most of the others only used to take a pint of maggots or/and pinkies or a pint of casters and they just couldn't compete even on the pole.

He was the guy who became our Match Secretary after I gave it up when I had my stroke a few years ago.

Anyway 27lb is not to be sneezed at, and I bet you enjoyed the match.

Sounds like a great water, better of luck next time.

tight lines

Re: todays match

he is a nice bloke and he told me later he fished paste about 6 inches deep laying it on the bank side using his top three on pole he was amazed himself as the fish kept lurching up the bank vitually out of the water to get it... in all hisyears he said he had never caught fish in volumes in that way before i tell you it was one every thirty seconds or so well it seemed that way as an onlooker he had to go and get another keep net i should have run round and emptied his first net whilst he was at the car lol ..no i aint bitter

Re: todays match

dave you ought to give it a go yesterdays venue was predominately a pole venue but today i sat and thought about it and 7 out of the top 10 fished waggler, bomb and feeder i think it was a good move as the water was pretty low and the fish were being spooked by the shadow of the pole....... damn and i had me waggler with me but didnt give it a thought........thats the difference from being ok to the best i guess
