Out done by a woman (what is the world coming to?)

Last weekend saw Simon, Cindy and I head to Todber for some easy fishing, the plan was to fish “White Post Lakes” however on arriving at the lake we saw that the bottom lake was closed for a match, so after looking at the top lake a decision had to be made whether to fish the top lake or go to Park lake. We decided that we would give Park Lake ago and after being assured that there were not that many on the lake we opted for park. However, on arrival we found that there was more than a few on the lake, so after mutual agreement we headed back to “White Post” to fish the top lake.

We opted for the last three swims on the right hand side of the lake. Simon opted for both the long pole and margin pole, fishing next to a tree on his left with the margin pole and out to the middle on the long pole.


Cindy opted for the Waggler fishing both short and long range.
I mean while opted for the long pole, I fished two areas one to my right tight to lilies and straight in front of me at around 10mtrs. My main bait was meat and pellet. I feed both areas to the point that every time I feed the bottom would explode with bubbles from feeding fish.

As the day progressed it was evident that the fishing was going to be good, we all started to catch well with both Simon and I catching some good quality F1s and I even managed some nice Crucians.


Simon was catching well under the tree. However he lost a few larger fish, Simon will tell you that the fish he was losing were in the Animal Bracket and boy do those fight hard, as I found out as well by losing two. (Animal Bracket = 5lb – 10lb Mark)


Cindy mean while was starting to catch well on the Waggler, to the point that she was catching 2 fish to my one and her fish were all good quality.


As the day progressed and the fishing seemed to get better and better, Cindy started to pull away with a fish every cast, her bait was Sweetcorn and she kept the feed down by feeding little and often making the fish compete for the food. By the end of the day I had around the 25lb mark and I know Cindy had double that if not more, our bums were truly spanked.

As Steve Said We Both Lost Some Monster Fish. The Ones I Lost Were My Fault, And Thats Down To My Lack Of Experenice With The Pole. But I Did Manage The Only Gudgeon Of The Day And Possibly The Smallest Carp In The Lake.
