Had a couple of hours to spare last Wednesday, so I though i'd nip up to the river Avon free strech at Bradford on Avon. Grabbed a pint of mixed maggots from Haines angling & a tin of luncheon meat from the larder & was on the bank by about 4.30pm. Target species were Chub, Dace, Bleak & Minnow for the species hunt. There was another guy fishing where I had hoped to fish, but told me he was just packing up as the fishing was slow. The lack of rain meant there was very little flow. He pointed out the areas that he had baited up, wished me luck & departed. ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() It was obvious that i'd never feed off the hordes of bleak to try for a dace, so I catapulted in a few free samples of luncheon meet & set up a ledger outfit. A quick cast to the far bank lily pads soon had me pulling in some hard fighting little chub. Nothing big, but good sport non the less. Bananna Steve & Simon N paid me a visit around 9 pm and took a quick photo ![]() Just can't believe how ignorant this lot are. No big fish to report, but still a successful day rounded off with a kebab & cider supper.... __________________ Don't Judge My Path If You Haven't Walked My Journey...

Re: A couple of hours on the Bristol Avon Looks like a super place to fish ian. It's a shame other people are not as considerate. It's a public water way. Maybe a 4oz lead would change their minds?? tj

Re: A couple of hours on the Bristol Avon Well done, nice report and pics... You have to deal with canoeists it wasnt too long ago i had to deal with speed boats and jet-skis , they really show no respect towards us fishermen. __________________ Blackwater Tackle Supplies Keep Ulster's Waters Healthy, Practice Catch and Release!
