Himley Hall this Friday Hi, im looking for advice and tactics if possible. Im going to Himley Hall, Dudley for the second time, i will be feeder fishing but just wondered what loose bait should i use. Im going to get some Maggots and i should also have some casters. do you think i should use pellet aswell for both feeder and Hook bait. And past experiences would also help. Drew

Re: Himley Hall this Friday I've only been there a couple of times , so for what it's worth... What are you after ? There's a few posts on here from people talking about crucian carp (lily pads on the dam wall) or tench (opposite bank to the sailing club). There are some carp and pike there too. Let us know what you are going after and we can take it from there. __________________ Just remember, not all the heroes died. www.helpforheroes.org.uk

Re: Himley Hall this Friday The carp boys play their cards very close to their chests. Crucians are in the lily pads by the dam wall and , being crucians, I'd imagine your best bet is a very sensitive float set up with the bait just resting on the bottom. This is the venue Matt Hayes anbd Mick Brown used in the Great Rod Race to catch crucians so if you can get a copy that might give you some pointers. It's worth checking the rules out too and getting the code for the lock on the entrance to the fishing, you don't pay and display as it's built in to the £5 (I think) day ticket their . Refreshing to see that they don't try and clobber you twice. If I was giving it a go (and I will be in the next few weeks) I'd be tempted to feed hemp and use a small bit of luncheon meat on the hook fished close in to the lily pads for the crucians. I walked round it the other day and there are only one or two gaps to fish in to so might be worth an early start. I'd love to know how you get on. __________________ Just remember, not all the heroes died. www.helpforheroes.org.uk
