| pre blue water / Todber manor meet I arrived at todber just before 12 after paying at the tackle shop. I arrived at wadmill to find Steve, ricky, Ryan, and steves friend(sorry i've forgotten ur name) I had a little chat and liked the peg opposite Steve. I barrowed all my gear round set the bivvy up and spoded 10 Spods of bait out to the island. I hadone rod on tiger nuts and the other on fake corn. It didn't take to long before the right hand rod to burst into life. I could tell it was only a small one but they must feed the carp on steroids as the fight they gave was a hard one scrapping all the way to the net. About 30 seconds into playing the first fish my other rod then decided to scream of with steve accross the lake taking pictures and calling me a greedy git. A thank you to ricky for to ing us a help in hand. I then spoded 5 spods out to the tree line and went for a social chat with Steve. On the way back to my peg dave turned up so I then barrowed his gear round so I could use his bait boat. The bits continued all day with mirrors commons F1's and brown goldfish. I was getting slot of sucess on the tiger nuts over the spod mix. We had a great sun set will post pics later but all was quiet till sat morning when the carp and gold fish came on the feed. The biggest carp fell to fake corn at 10lb 14oz common. All in all a great social with some good banter. I will be back at todber to fish either big Hayes or little Hayes. Maybe a another meet? tj |

| Re: pre blue water / Todber manor meet Friday the 2nd saw both Simon and I heading towards Todber Manor for the Pre-Water Meeting. We arrived at the tackle shop on the site at 8:00am and we were met by Ryan and Ricky. After looking around the shop and buying our bait, we headed for Wadmill. Both Simon and I had only planned to fish for 24hrs, and on arrival to the lake we decided not to walk too far and fish the bottom end of the Lake. Ryan and Ricky also opted for the bottom end. After choosing the swims and setting up I settled down to enjoy the day, one thing I have forgot to mention when we arrived the skies had decided to open up and release all their water onto us. The rain lasted up to lunch time and at that point the day became very warm. I opted to fish just two rods with a relatively light set up with 10lb main line and 8lb floro-carbon hooklength. With assize 9 Drennan Barbel hooks. My bait was two types of boilies the first choice was Richworth Esterberry and my second choice the Todber Manor own Boilies in 18mm. My set up was fairly simple incorporating a free running lead system. ![]() Out of the group both Ryan and I caught first, with Ryan’s Fish around the 5lb mark and mine at 8lb 8ozs. Both fish were in good condition and had plenty of power. Ryan’s Fish ![]() My Fish ![]() It was around 1pm when TJ turned up and opted to fish the far bank. He even baited up my swim for me as well, (What a very nice man) ![]() It wasn’t long before TJ started to catch even to the point he had two fish on at once. ![]() It was a while before Simon caught his first fish and at the 8lb mark, this made Simons day. Even Ricky was catching. Simon playing his Carp ![]() Simon’s Mirror ![]() As the day progressed the last off us turned up in the cunning disguise as Devon Dave TJ then had the perfect tool to bait up our swims by using Dave’s Bait boat, even though I was using aerial bombardment tactics to try and blow the boat up As the day progressed I had a total of 6 fish as night fell including this 8lb Mirror/Ghost Carp ![]() As the Sun stated to set Simon caught his second fish. ![]() With the sun setting I retired to bed to read and try and get some sleep. ![]() The night did not produce anything but as dawn broke I had a screaming run which produced a Carp of 5lb. An hour later I heard my bite alarms go again only to wake to a fantastic site, as a Kingfisher landed on my Rod. ![]() ![]() The morning didn’t produce anymore fish but as we started to pack up at 7am I had one more visitor ![]() __________________ Born to fish made to work |
