Camel Fish is on a distinguished road

Cattawade 29-06-2010 I was climbing the walls all day to leave the office in the beautiful sun and get down to the Cattawde Stour. I'd packed some halibut pellets into the boot of my car ready, I didn't think many other baits would fair so well on such a hot day and decided to float fish them on a hair on the bottom. I arrived to burning hot sun and a broken fishing platform forcing me to move to a different spot to where I wanted to fish. The swim was teaming with hundreds of small roach but without the bait it seemed they knew they were safe. I fed up a few spots and set up my float to the perfect depth, everytime I brought the line back in i had weed...after weed after weed. I stuck at it...even when the hoards of canoe tooting people arrived but still had nothing. I'm starting to dislike this spot now as its over grown.... Never raked a swim before...any suggestions?

Woodbridge Private 30-06-10 So I was determined not to be beaten after tuesdays blanking so decided to try out some home made boilies in Woodbridge. I fed my favourite swim next to the overhanging bush with some pellets and before I'd even set up masses of bubbles started to rise. I was fishing the same set up as before, hair rig and float fished on the bottom. Used an 8mm pellet for my first chuck and within minutes I had a take, it fought well and landed it after a couple of minutes. A small Carp of about 1.5lb. I stuck with the pellets and had 2 more takes, both of which shook off, I then moved on to my boilies. After casting i had a bit of a tangle from where some white fluff (like bull rush stuff) had got caught in an eye, I start untangling and get a bite, I rush to get it untangled thinking that it will be gone by the time i get it sorted but the fish is still there . It fights hard and strips line off my reel, landed after a few minutes, a common of 2-3lb. On my last few casts i had a few knocks but nothing taking, i think the boilies were probably a bit large for the smaller carp, but then i have another good bite, quick fight and dead weight, Bream all the way, weighing in at about 5lb. i decide to pack up for the night having a good session.
