| stafford moor 19-6-10 Jo's Lake - New PB for Connor we went to Jo's lake at Stafford Moor yesterday for a long day session from dawn to dusk. Fished the long walk right back in the mangroves and settled down into two adjacent swims. Me using my carp gear and 15mm fishmeal boilies tight to the islands and set hard to keep them from running into the snags. Lots of free stuff of pellets and boilies. Morning quiet with a few runs and two carp then at late afternoon couldnt keep rods in rest. Total 10 carp from 8lb to 12.5lb and all nice chunky mirrors.   Connor fished swim next to me and morning used waggler and expander pellets fished over a bed of 4mm pellet. Had lots of skimmers to 2lb and some tench. Total around 30lb of skimmers. Later switched to two 1.75lb specialist rods and small baitrunners fishing pellet feeder and 8mm pellet on a hair. A few better skimmers to 3lb and a nice couple of carp. Last fish made his day which screamed off and took him 20 minutes to land. Couldnt believe that he played it so well and a new PB for him at 16lb.   There for a week in early July and looking forward to it.      |
