| well i had a big pass yesterday ,and after manageing to get out of work at 1 pm i was at the killerton stretch of the Culm at 1.30 and rareing to go the water level was down , but a steady flow, and also still coloured from sunday eve rain, this looked good( apart from being very very hot and bright sunshine) ![]() ![]() this last swim i took ages to get going then all the cows came down to drink and ruined it ![]() i was purely fishing maggot, with 1 rod on maggot feeder and size 6 hook( went down to a 12 later) , other rod a 8 size 4 trotting float and size 14 passed quite a few people ( all said it was tough )on way down stream ( busy for once here , guess first day calling) well apart from a few knocks on the feeder rod , all the fish i did catch came to the float first too fall were the overly obligeing gudgeon then at last a new species for the hunt with a dace( first of several in the end) ![]() then after working hard on the above swim, a tiny chub ![]() ![]() ( heard of a much better one further downsteam, in morning) i also had a nice roach about 1/2 lb here, too finish i just played in the margins as could see small fish there and bingo a hard fighting minnow ![]() ![]() tally for the 4 hours was 6 gudgeon, 4 dace, 1 roach, 1 chubblet and several minnows a lovely afternoon as for the luck bit well I then went to branscombe sea fishing in eve armed with sandeel and crab , and scored a miserable blank ( not even a knock ![]() dave __________________ www.exmouthsaa.co.uk 24 beers in a case and 24 hours in a day simples You won't know unless you go :D...and if you do go!! please let us know :D as thats how the forum thrives Last edited by pingu; 06-17-2010 at 06:29 PM. |
