| May Bank Holiday at Todber As everyone else did both Ian and me decided to go fishing over the bank holiday and our day was Monday the 31st of May, Location = Todber Manor, Lake = Wadmill. My Plan was to catch some off the big Bream that the lake holds. Ian’s task was to nab a few points. We chose the bottom end of the lake, truth be known Ian didn’t want to walk too far. In front of both us was an Island, my plan was to fish the feeder just off the edge of the Island. ![]() My rig was nice and simple, a sliding feeder with a 8” hooklength, that had been hair rigged with Corn. ![]() I kept this rig on all day but kept changing the bait from Worm to corn to pellet. To start with the bites were very hard to hit even with the tip flying round I found it difficult to hook the fish. When I finally hooked my first fish it was a small Roach of no more than 2ozs. I stuck out the feeder, mainly because I didn’t want to fish any other way, any way Ian was fishing the Pole and he too was catching the small Roach. ![]() However, after he fed some groundbait and pellet, Ian started to get some nice skimmers and he even had some nice Bream. ![]() By this point I started to hook the better fish as well, for some reason I had hooked into a shoal of Brown Goldfish. I could seem to get through them in total I had 10 of these little devils. ![]() The best being around 2.5lb, even Ian had one on the pole to claim 1.5 points ![]() As the afternoon wore on the fishing became harder, to the point we knocked it on the head at 16:30. I enjoyed the day but the fishing could have been just a little bit better. __________________ Born to fish made to work |
