hey went to staninghall lakes at crostwick. very hard lake to catch in so i was suprised to catch. I got down there bout 2pm and stayed over night and left about 11am. I caught 3 common Carp all on fake sweetcorn! weighing in at 7lb,10.6lb and a 12.8lb so was a good night all came in between 1-2am. but then went dead. The problem was i think the carp were infected, looked like they had a round bruise on the side. they have shut off the match lake due to a virus...im just praying that the virus isnt in the carp lake

Well done on the fish! did you let the bailiffs know about what you seen on the fish?

yes i did but they aint doing nothing about about i dont think. my mate was down there yesterday and asked the bailiff about it and he said there was nothing wrong but there was definatly the same infection as the match lake

Is it the KHV that is in the match lake?

im not sure they are having it investigated, it could be. its like a round bruise, a bluey white patch on the side.

The wounds could be damage caused during spawning, sounds to me that the wounds are healing if they are going white,

KHV generally will not show as wounds on the side and Carp will not feed if they are infected with KHV, when a water has been infected with KHV there will be a very high mortality rate with most deaths happening very quickly
