Meet in summer????

Been thinking for a while about organizing a coarse trip down my way.

I think one of the best places we could go for novices and more serious coarse fishers would be Reepham.

There are 2 lakes, a novice lake which contains rudd, fantails, crucian carp, mirror, common, ghost carp to roughly 12lb.
It's a very small lake and is brimming with fish, so isn't hard to catch on, best baits are maggots, corn and worms.

The bigger lake contains, rudd, ghost, koi, leather, crucian, common, mirror carp to just under 30lb and fantails.

Best baits seem to be boilies, worms, dog biscuits and bread.

The best time for me to go would be in the summer holidays (July 22nd to September) it also gives everyone a lot of time to see if they could get down.

The fishery opens from 6.30 am and closes at dusk. Prices for adults are £6 and under 14's (have to be accomponied by an adult) are £4.

On a sunday they do lovely bacon/sausage/egg sarnies, but are quite expensive.

The place gets very busy in the summer, so our best be would be to get there early and if I rang the owner to see if we could pre book a certain amount of pegs.

If we fish in summer it's great fun and you can really bag up fishing on the top or bottom. Set in lovely grounds with lots of fish!!

If we can get enough people interested I can get the fishery rules and my dad can sort out directions for everyone!

Look forward to hearing from anyone...

Also, give you a chance to get some species points

Sounds fantastic Dan. I'll definitely be up for it, depending on dates etc I'm starting coarse fishing this year, you can teach me how to catch some lunkers

Re: Meet in summer????

Thanks for the quick replies, with it being a few months away gives us plenty of time to sort stuff out...

And Rob, the average size carp seems to be from 6lb-10lb, so you should be able to catch some big enough fish to give you a great fight, and catching them off the top is something else

Re: Meet in summer????

It's a shame both of you can't make it, but definitly understand, a very long way for you both!!

If only a few people come, could be good in 1 way in that the place can and normally does get very busy early, and i'm not sure if you can pre book pegs so in that sense is a good thing, i guess....(but we'll definitly be able to get a peg, so don't worry )

But would have been great if you could have come

Re: Meet in summer????

Same as Richard and Pingu unfortunately but I hope to start course fishing occasionally so if anyone fancies organising something similar in this part of the world I'd love to turn up and learn even more (plus get a few extra species for the hunt :) )
