 kia ora again well as i still had 1/2 of last weeks maggots in a semi state of ok plus 1/2 the can of meat and some groundbait it was a simple decision to head to Kia ora after work again, this time hunting the crucian and tench 1 float rod and 1 sleeper both with size 10's, float on maggot sleeper on small luncheon meat got there 2.45 and went into the productive swim from last week...but with a major difference... this time there were no fish, the guy just too left was doing well on the feeder but i wasnt even getting the silver fish to maggot so a quick switch to the top silver pond ( where i am now informed there are actually more crucian and tench  ) the wind was blowing quite strongly along the pond and i set up at the far end hopeing the fish may be down wherte all the debris was blown tooand straight away into gudgeon city on the float, but eventually the skimmers bullied them away it wa getting tiresome i just couldnt get anything else and was thinking of giveing up as was getting gloomy under heavy skies abnd that cold wind when my sleeper rod then went off about 7.15 and a feisty 2lb F1 type carp on the mat so enthused i recast and carried on then again it went off and a weird hybrid carp/skimmer about 1lb( almost no fight at all) and then eventually the float went strongly and 1 of my target species crucian  which was soon followed by 3 more god i love these hard scrapping fish but the light beat me and although i knew tench were arround by the bubbles, i will have to return( what a shame  )another pleasent afternoon and got one of the targets so cant be bad  dave __________________ www.exmouthsaa.co.uk 24 beers in a case and 24 hours in a day simples You won't know unless you go :D...and if you do go!! please let us know :D as thats how the forum thrives     |
