Re: Off to crockerton Im definitely up for putting the work in to find the best fishing there for sure. Also is the parking far from the lake and is it easy to tell which lake is ours and not the garden centre's (just been reading the club website)

Re: Off to crockerton Parking is about 200 meters away from the lake, You have to walk through the big black gates with all our signs on, You cant go to the wrong lake as you have to go through the garden centre to get to that one

Re: Off to crockerton My first session turned out to be a bit of a disaster. I had run out of my favourite groundbait and was left using some god awful red lake mix, only to talk with banana steve and find that groundbait kills the swim. OH WELL!! At about 13.25 my wife called and told me about some problems at home so had to pack up and head home having blanked all day long. After resolving the problems my wife and I decided to go to Shearwater let the kids run loose and I could use up the last of my mixed groundbait after what seemed like days I finally got into the fish and had 2 bream to about 1/1.5 lb. I then went looking for the wife only to find her with both kids soaking wet (little devils wanted to paddle and off they shot). After sorting the kids my wife discovered what she thought was a carp (my wife doesnt fish) belly up in the water, on further investigation it turned out to be a good size Tench My wife promptly voluntered to try and net it in and ended up getting soaked, After some hilarious moments she finally got it on the bank where I discovered quite to my extreme annoyance a size 6 hook with full hooklink 2oz lead connected to about 3 foot of leadcore. The lead ejection system was so shoved up I couldnt even pull the sheath of to remove the weight. Bloody idiot who made that rig. Im gonna have to try crockerton friday night and see if I cant get amongst the fish there.

Re: Off to crockerton Unlucky Ryan. Crockertons A Great Lake. Unfortunately Ground Bait Doesnt Help At Crockerton Nor Does Over Feeding Your Swim With Any Bait. There Are Some Carp Anglers That Use The Lake And Seriously Over Feed The Lake At Times. There Are Some That Learn From There Mistakes And Theres An Odd Few That Dont Learn. At Least You Now Know Not To Bother With The Ground Bait. I Got Down To The Lake About 2pm So I Just Missed Bumping Into You This Afternoon.
