| Decided That After Our Last Visit To Crockerton (One Of Our Club Lakes) In Search Of Our First Carp Of The Year From There, To Give It A Rest For Another Month Or So. We Made Up Our Mind To Try Berkley As People Had Been Saying Some Carp Had Been Had Off The Top And It Wasnt Fishing To Bad At The Moment. So After Cindy's Antenatal Appointment In The Morning We Got To Berkley Just After 12pm (Shes Still Out Fishing Even At 37 Weeks Gone), Expecting To Find Some Cars In The Car Park. But To My Amazement Car Park Empty. Walked Across And Decided To Fish Peg 1, Always Been My Favourite And Always Been Good To Me In The Past.Set Up My Float Rod With A Rig I Had Seen On Friday Night On "Tight Lines" On Sky Sports. Its Basically A Bait Band Hair Rigged Every Tight To The Hook. First Cast Out And A Carp Of About 2lb, Second Cast Out Another Carp Of About The Same Size. Then Went Quite For A While Then Came Fish 3. A Carp Of 4 And A Half Lb ![]() ![]() After Returning It The Water, I Casted Out Again And Hooked Into Something Ive Never Experenced Before At Berkley, I Had Such A Screaming Take Off The Top I Couldnt Stop It. I Tighted The Clutch, Held The Spool, But I Couldnt Stop It Running. Eventually It Found A Snag And Snapped Me Off. So Dissapointed ![]() We Then Decided To Try For The Silvers As There Such Fun At Berkley Its Crammed Full Of Roach And Rudd. Through The Day We Caught Plenty Of Rudd And Roach, We Both Had Trouble Getting Though The Tiny Rudd To Start With. ![]() After We Got Though Them We Found The Roach ![]() Average Roach We Picked Up Some Decent Roach Though The Day And Some Nice Rudd And Even Our First Golden Rudd From Berkley. ![]() Half Lb Roach ![]() Couple OF Rudd ![]() Golden Rudd Even One Of The Strange Purple Carp Put In An Appearance ![]() Our End Net Of Silvers ![]() Going Back To Crockerton Sunday To Fish The Afternoon/Evening With Steve For The Roach/Skimmers/Bream And Tench, Hopefully Another Good Day To Look Forward To.
