| First 24hr at Chad Planned my first 24hr at Chad lake, Stow on the wold (a bit late this year). Did book for 2 of us me and Father in law but he manage to catch the flu so my friend Les stepped in at last minute. We arrived at the lake at 1400hrs on Sunday and walked around the lake to find the surface was black with fish after speaking to other anglers it was going to be hard with hot days and cold nights. I fished peg 3, Les peg 4. fished with single baits by the islands until we set ourselves up (this is where all the fish had came out)![]() My swim fish tight to over hanging bushes hence the bait boat ![]() Les's swim fished to sunken willow and in the margis of peg 5 After a couple of hour of watching the fish tease us ![]() and not even taking any free offerings off top it started to cool down and the fish started moving around. we got a few little knocks but nothing possitive. The angler on peg 1 had a lovely 20.2lb mirror from off the island (jammy devil). I was also baiting up a margin spot by my swim that I decided to fish at night. Well nothing happened and the tempreture dropped so hit the sack. had a few knocks from margin rod and at 3.00am i managed a 14lber (thank god not a blank) but nothing else for the rest of the session for me Les managed a 20lb common that was in brilliant condition![]() After the sun had broke through the cloud all the fish bobbed back up to the surface and ignored every effort from floaters to zig rigs . Not alot caught but a few good lessons learnt and a great time had will be going back soon![]() ![]() cows behind swim where making a racket all day long ![]() ![]() my margin spot ![]() Les's swim ![]() A heron had a good time will let you know how we got on next time![]() __________________ Give a man a fish and he will eat for a day. Teach him how to fish and he will sit on a bank and drink beer all day |
