| Highampton, Devon 15-4-10 Another day at Highampton. Arrived 7am and set up for the two boys (Connor and his mate Micheal) to fish wagglers with pellet down the margins. My two carp rods cast to the island as tight as possible. 9am had run on carp rods with 15mm home made boilies with pellet PVA bags. Resulted in common of around 5lb. At same time Micheals waggler shot away with a lump of a carp attached to it. 6lb tippet and size 12 hook with 6mm soaked swim strim pellet. 10 minutes later and after one hell of a scrap we netted this 11lb mirror. ![]() Boys fished on catching skimmers, tench, pastie carp, crucians and silvers through the morning. ![]() I had a few more runs resulting in carp of 4lb, 3lb and then late morning had this chuncky common which went 10lb. ![]() ![]() Action in the afternoon really picked up as it warmed. Boys catching a good weight of smaller fish on the wagglers. Carp ripping at the pva bags cast to the island with a few more runs from small carp under 5lb. Late afternoon another 10lb + common for me. ![]() ![]() Boys put together a net of around 70lb - 80lb of skimmers, carp, tench, crucians. Together with the larger fish a bag of well over 100lb between us. Excellent day and nice weather again. |
