Friday I decided to take my fourteen year old son fishing, it only happens occasionally as his mind is more on girls than fish

The venue was Roswell pits, I fished the right hand side of the swim and Jordan fished on the left







We were targeting the Zander and Catfish, using dead Rudd and some fresh baits that one of the match boys supplied. I had a couple of dropped runs during the afternoon, early evening Jordan had a run and landed his first ever pike, only small, approx 4lb but he was over the moon, thirty minutes later he hooks another small pike but the hooks pulled at the net.

During the night I missed four more runs, and one again as it got light, Jordan emerged from his sleeping bag and as we make a cuppa his swinger indicated a tentative bite, removing the line from the clip the fish slowly moved off and Jordan was into another fish, this time it was his first ever Zander, not a big one but he was well happy


I ended the session with nothing but I had some good quality time with my son, not sure if I will take him again LOL
