chilly few hours on the darkside for points

well after some monumental DIY on saturday i had an afternoon pass for Kiaora ponds collumpton on sunday afternoon after work

managed to get up there and set up on far bank by 2.30, was still and warm at work but at the ponds there was a steady chill wind blowing accross the lake all afternoon,, sometimes quite feisty wind that proved tricky

fishing 1 float rod with a 4bb waggler and size 14 and some decidedly tired maggot( been in fridge 2 weeks after an aborted dark side session then) other 1 1/2 lb barbel rod with rod with sweetcorn in the chance of one of the carp there

my swim,faceing straight into wind as well , female canada goose already sitting on eggs on island being protected by partner meant i wasnt bothererd by all the other wildfowl for once



as usual for here the float rod was busy from the off
first victim was a gudgeon


then the skimmers came in on force
this was smallest biggest about 1.5lb but running out of battery on phone so no extra pics of the better ones


eventually after shortening the drop something different as the rudd came into play


the carp rod hadnt twitched at all ,, then suddenly went mental, and found i had caught a goose( which soon snapped me off)

packed up at 6,30 as was getting cold

others there were bagging up on the carp ( luncheon meat seemed to be the bait of the day)

so a nice afternoon and 4.5 points, not bothered no carp as was too busy on float rod anyway and they will still be there next time

and will go back soon for all the other points that the pond holds soon
