Talking 36 Hour's @ Longleat and new PB

Got to Longleat at 06:55 to find 6 cars waiting for the barrier to go down @ 7am, Me and my Dad wanted to fish the top lake, grabbed my Rods and bait and made my way down to the lake to find most of the lake full, With only about 4 swims left.

So me and my dad set up on the road bank near the middle of the lake, I set up 1 rod lead safety clip 1 oz lead 14lb fluoro carbon main line, To 10lb hook link and size 8 hook with 18mm cell boilie. 2 rod lead safety clip 1.5 oz lead 15lb cammo main line with size 8 hook with 18mm cell boilie and Indian spice pop up to make a snowman rig, Rod 3 was 1.5oz running lead with a bright yellow pineapple pop up about 3inches of the bottom.

Started to fish not having any action went and spoke to the 3 people in the top corner where we wanted to fish, they said they were leaving at 12ish and we are quite welcome to jump in there swim when they leave.

At about 10:30 my dad had the first and only run of his 24hour session, after a little fight he had on the bank a nice 14lb Mirror carp on the new N gage boilie with same pop up .

No action what so ever not even a knock seen the 3 blokes started to pack up so when they left we jumped in there swim pic below of my view from my bivvy

Cast my Rods out with in 2 hours rod 2 was of struck in to the fish started to play it after about 2 mins the hook pall out that was on 18mm cell boilie and Indian spice pop up so i re baited all my rods with the same casted back out. No action till 8:30pm rod 2 was of again after about 5mins on the bank was a nice 14 1/2 LB Mirror pic below

Re baited and cast back out went back into my bivvy to make a cup of tea,

about 1 hour late I had a few beeps jumped up went out to find rod 2 bobbin lying on the floor with my line being slack, struck into it, I was in again but with in 3mins it was of,

Re baited cast back and, with in the hour i had a screaming run on rod 2 again it was on for about 2 mins then the hook pulled

Re baited and cast back with in 20 mins rod 2 was of again this time i was determined not to looses this one, with in about 6-7 mins i had it in the net a nice 18Lb mirror carp pic below

Re baited and cast back no action time was getting on so i thought time to get some sleep, got in my bed just doing up my sleeping bag when Rod 2 was of again struck in to it played it for about 5-6 mins and in the net went a 17Lb mirror pic didn't come out don't know what went wrong

Re baited and cast back out this time i thought i would stay up a bit have a cup of tea and a fag must of been about 12:30 when i thought no action time to get into bed just slipped of my boots when rod 2 beeped a few times so went out to have a look bobbin on the floor again struck and I was in again after a little fight i had on the bank another 18lb Mirror, went to ask my dad if he was awake and could take a pic he said he was, after look back at my 3 pics he took i think he was half asleep head cut of 2 and a little bit on the other, best pic below

Re baited and cast back out no action till about 3:30am when rod 2 was of again after a short fight another mirror at 16lb no pics

Re baited and cast back out set my alarm for 8am and went to sleep no action till about 6:30am when i had a few beeps i was knackered so i said if it screams of i will get up but it didnt, No more action

up at 8am to find rod 2 bobbin on the floor must have been drop back last night re baited rod 1 cast back out re baited rod 2 cast back out started to re bait rod 3 when my dad come over as he started speaking to me when rod 2 beeped and the bobbin dropped waited about 30secs nothing tightened the line up a bit then it was of struck into what felt a nice fish after a 8-9 min fight my dad slipped the landing net under what looked to be a mirror over 20lb and going to be a new P.B for me, put it in the sling and weighed it scales went 25Lb new P.B pic's below taken by my dad as my phone was dead now

My dad packed up and left at 11:30, I fished on with no action till about 3:30 when i landed another 18lb mirror on rod 2 again.

Re baited and cast back out no action till about 5:30 PM when rod 2 screamed of again after a good fight for about 12 mins i landed a nice 22lb mirror, no pics as my phone was dead

Fished on till about 6:30 PM with no more action. i think this was my best session ever breaking my old P.B of 20Lb twice

WEll done, next time you go into Steve's tackle, ask for the photo' I took in there, a few years ago when the top lake was drained I walked around and snapped away, but you can see gravel patches and silt/bloodworm beds? Thought it may help a few anglers
