A new PB at Town Parks

On Friday i had a pass to fish town parks Friday till Sunday so a BIG thank you to my lovely wife as she packed the suitcases for Egypt.

I arrived about 5pm on Friday after rushing to get ready i had all my bivvy set up and then realised i had left all of my food and drink at home so about 7pm after i had set some traps up under trees to my right and left and the main island i went back home to get what I had left.

Got back to the lake about 7.30pm and cast my rods to my baited area and lay in wait. I had a whit chocolate pop up on a choddy rig, cell on another and a snowman on the third rig with a grange boilie. I then set all my lines and back leaded them to pin as close tot he bottom as i was only fishing 2 rods length out on my left and right hand rods.

I was listing to the radio and was pretty much asleep by 10pm and had some how managed to take my socks off. At 11pm my right hand rig on the white chocolate pop up screamed of jumping out of my bivvy with no socks on as i was desperate to get the fish. I pulled into the fish and he was on!! i was then trying to lean back into my bivvy to find my head tourch. When i found the tourch i could play the fish after 15 mins of pulling and praying i landed this cracker

This beats my previous PB which was a ghostie caught last year at 15lb dead. My new PB now stands at 18lb 14oz. Of course a few tins of old speckled hen followed.

The fish look bigger than 18lb 14oz so in the morning i used an official scales to test mine and mine were 5lb out but at 18lb 14oz im more than happy with the PB.

I fished till Sunday morning with a couple of runs all to pop up but no connections. I was still over the moon with a new PB so i was not to fussed.
