| why do we do it!! match today........... weather was supposed to be bright and nice turns out windy rainy..grrrr draws a rubbish peg.... pole fishing... caught one in the first 5 mins a skimmer...well dont that just give you false hopes this looks like it could be promising...................yer right...... not a sniff for another 2 hours then a small chub.................fishng at 14.5 metres to an island after an elbow operation aint fun decided to fish the margins for a while ...bang big carp ...bang lost it again grrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr........bang big carp ...bang played a while lost it again grrrrrrrrrrr lets try out to island again ....................big big big bang massive carp............grrr my elastic was caught taking me and my pole down the bank side couldnt doo out else lost it fish not pole....mmmmm lets take up another hobby me thinks by now i feel like taking up kick boxing for obvious reasons............arr well theres always next week........       |

| Re: why do we do it!! Hard lines. At least you continue to have a crack . Used to fish a wednesday night friendly down in Bath run from Bacons Tackle Box on Bristol road. There was one lass there who would wipe the floor with us if it was down to the pole and merely bloody intimidate on running line. I always like to see the girls on the bank (OK stop it , I didn't primarily mean for that reason, though it is a better view than a bunch of middle aged fat blokes like me I guess) and they do seem to get better results. Pheramones (that old male chestnut) or just because they have their brains wired better when it comes to catching ? I don't know. My missus favorite saying is it was in the sale for £5.00, then again she found a receipt for a small koi for £100 when I had told her the koi had cost £50.00 lol, Well back to fishing, I went Thursday afternoon and Friday after my favorite species Zander Thursday nothing until 5.00pm then in 30 mins 5 pike to double figures, NO Zander Friday, fished from 10ish, hooked four fish, all pike to 12lb, (lost one) then as it got dark I had 5 tentative bites, missed the first three then hooked the fourth only for the size 8 treble to pull, missed the next one, totally Pi--ed off, then I had to pack up in the dark as I had a meeting the following morning, went home very down, Roll on Thursday and Friday, my last two goes on the Ouse, as long as the missus and I are OK, her dad passed away a couple of weeks ago (gutted) and his funeral is on Wednesday, hopefully we will both be OK Darrell |
