24 hours @ crockerton breaking my P.B not once but twice in space of 3 hours

Me and my brother agreed to fish crockerton me for 24 and Ben for 48hours instead of "wadmill" (Todber Manor), because not ment to be fishing very well and very very muddy, so i arrived at crockerton at 8am,

As i was getting my kit out of the car my brother came a spoke to me and said he was fishing in peg 3 and his mate was in peg 2, And from peg 4-7 was very very muddy,

So i spoke to his mate who has never caught a crockerton carp yet to find out that he had a 4-5Lb carp in the night top man , And im not sure what Ben caught in the night, I expect Ben will add to this thread,

Anyway back to finding a place to fish after looking about i braved the mud and set up in Peg 7, I set up my 2 carp rods with 14Lb mainline to 10lb fluorocarbon hook link with size 8 hook and using Mainline Cell boilies.

I started to fish 1 rod by the tree on the island and the other in the middle of the lake, me not having no action went on to fish the pole with maggots to see if any silver fish was feeding, after about 30mins started getting little bites nothing to strike to, after about another 10mins i was into my first fish a small perch, After trying for another hour no luck,

Time was getting on about 2:30, So casted my carp rods back out put on my receiver and went and spoke to Ben as i went over Ben was playing a fish after a little fight Ben landed a nice 14lb mirror pic below




After taking the pics for Ben and talking to him asking what bait he was using, i went back to my peg and thinking to my self what am i doing wrong , Any way went into my Bivvy, Switched on the radio made my self a cup of tea, After about 2 hours i started to get hungry, so i heated up some Spaghetti just about to be hot enough, when my right hand rod screamed of 5:30 started to play it and reel it in shouted to Ben that im in and got a fish on he, came over and grabbed the landing net he asked if i thought it was a big fish, i said no because it was coming straight in, got it to about 3 rod lengths out when it started to run played it for about 8-10 mins finally came to the surface then Ben netted it, i said to Ben looks like a new P.B for me, Previously my P.B stranded at 17lb for common from cuckoo's rest and 17lb mirror from Shearwater, Any way back to weighing the fish scales read 18lb Brocken my P.B common pic's below




Went back finished heating up my Spaghetti and fished for about an hour, when Ben come over and said he just caught 1 bigger than mine he then said it was only about 5-6Lb, So i switched my receiver on and went and spoke to Ben and ask him about what time the shops shut because i was running out of fags,

when at about 8:30 my receiver started to go of, So i ran back to peg 7 through the mud on peg 4-7 watching i dont slip on my ass , when i got there the line was peeling of my reel, Ben shouted over you still got it i said yes he came over and grabbed the landing net, I said to him i think this is quite a big fish, done the same as the other came straight in till a few rod lengths out when i played it for about 7-8mins it picked up my other line, but after about another 2mins ben got him in the landing net, Ben saying to me that its a nice fish bigger than the last, put him in the sling and weighed him scaled went to just over 20Lb now a new P.B Mirror pics below




Went on to fish for a few hours then said time to retire to the bivvys as it was very quite and time was getting on about 12:30,

i was awaken by my receiver about 4:20AM with it emptying down with rain grabbed my right hand rod, i reeled it in netted it. Didn't photo it or weigh it, as it was peeing down with rain. And i didn't have time to put my coat on i would say it was about 6-7Lb common,

back to sleep for about 3 hours up about 7:30 spoke to Ben he said he had a few in the night cant remember what sizes,

Went on to fish the rest of the day Banana Steve turned up me and ben chatted to him for about 10mins ,

not alot went on Ben did manage a nice 9LB common at about 4 PM pic below

Had a great time got very muddy lost count how meany times i sliped up.

Looking at doing 3 days again at the end of the month.
