a good days fishing for winter

hi guys so yesterday was out on the bank for only my second days fishing of the year due to the snow freezing conditions ect so arrived at the fishery to find half of the lake was frozen there was only two anglers fishing wich happened to be me and my mate.

we started fishing at about 8:00 i was using simple feeder tatics and was also trying a pole line for the first hour the fishing was good and plenty of bites where coming wich was a suprise and 20 minutes into the session i connected with my first fish of the day a little ruud within 10 minutes of recasting i was in again this time it was obviously a better fish and when it surfaced to my delight i saw it was a tench yey ! the fedder for the first hour carried on producing the goods another tench of about 1lb 1/2 was in the net as well as some other silver fish .

however as expected the feeder eventually died off a little so i decided to have a go on the pole for a while feeding in maggots and casters with double maggot on the hook nothing happend for a while with the odd bounce on the float but no clear take i kept twiching the bait to try and tempt a bite and this seemed to do the buisness wich resulted in a 2lb ide in the net wich turned out to be the best fish of the day throughout the day i caught at a steady pace and had plenty of small ide skimmers and other silver fish however i did manage to catch a mystery fish of wich i have no idea of what it was i had previously caught a simular looking fish from the same venue last season and the only way i could describe it is an orimental looking fish wich had a white body and orange spots on its head and back it also seemed to have like a blue patch for where it's brain is does anybody have any possible suggestions i thought it was a blue orfe hybrid with another species i could also but a picture of it up but i dont know how to but the on lol

to conclude all in all a good days fishing and some good sport in the winter

tight lines all

Re: a good days fishing for winter

sounds like a good day, well done mate

if you look at the freshwater section of the forum another forum member has asked how to put a picture onto a thread, If you have an album set up on your profile it is simple, follow the instructions I have just put up for the other member

If you dont have a album set up yet look at FAQ at the top of the forum, scroll down and you will see how to set up a album/ how to post pictures

any probs come back to me

Darrell
