| Some photos of the Severn and no chub from saturday. Some photos of my blanking trip to the BAA stretch at Hampton Loade. 1. Car park, you can tell it's early as it has usually got a few cars as this is a popular stretch for walkers . ![]() 2. The gate to the stretch (notice the yellow sign on the tree BAA sign you can see a lot of them along this river £30 a year, bargain!). ![]() 3. Looking down on swim number two. Swim one involved me in a heavy fall and slide down the bank so I moved quite quick. I was fishing in to that tree. Sometimes a little too "into" ;) ![]() 4. View across peg two to the campsite next to the unicorn pub. Going to have to go there I think. ![]() 5. Much further up the river in the copse. The darkness of this picture is due to the intensity of the light behind. It's not clear but there's a weed bed close in and a bit of a slack (only a bit). River is moving through though so didn't stay long. ![]() 6. View upstream, tried there too. ![]() 7. Lovely bit of slack water on a ledge by tree stump. Got to be chub in there. You'd think. Was shallow but even then rang the dinner gong round here and no chubbies answered. This spot is usually too boggy to get to by the look, thanks to it being frozen though...doeshave some uses then. ![]() 8. Snaggy enough? ![]() 9.Another swim this one was a lovely slack with this tree at the top and a rushbed type thing next to it. Still nothing but what a lovely day to blank . ![]() __________________ Just remember, not all the heroes died. www.helpforheroes.org.uk |

| Re: Some photos of the Severn and no chub from saturday. This stretch used to be known as barbel alley. Then I arrived. Other than this chub session I've been concentrating on finding all the ways the barbel don't like to be caught. This year it has been quite rubbish for everyone but the caravan park throws a few suprises up quite a lot. I'm also going to have a roach on the float session here before the season is out . Gets VERY busy in the summer near the car park. A walk of a few hundred yards though and you can just about have the river to yourself. It is a lovely stretch with the added bonus of the Severn Valley Railway chugging away on the far bank. Trains have never really been my thing (much more of a plane nut) though I can see how people could be drawn in to the steam railway scene as I do secretly enjoy watching those wonderful old machines . __________________ Just remember, not all the heroes died. www.helpforheroes.org.uk |

| Re: Some photos of the Severn and no chub from saturday. It's BAA so is both. £30 a year or £6 (in advance and from a whole list of tackle dealers ) see BAA website. No I am not on comission, though I should be for the Isle of Wight tourist board the amount of people I send over there.
