| Blankety Blank Well I am on form, its three blanks in a row, one on the Brue, spinning for pike, one on Lords Walk on the upper Hants Avon, a session when JP had abrace of grayling, trout and dace. And today, at Crockerton, although the omens were against any serious success, although I would have been happy with a tiny roach or two. I got to the lake to see a clear patch i the thin ice, which was also in front of the peg I wanted to fish. Then things began to go wrong. I slipped and fell on my way down the bank, it did not hurt too much when it happened, but sure does now. ![]() Here is Steve, just about where i slipped, skeetex books may be warm, but they do not grip well. The act of falling spooked about 40 or so ducks, swans and geese into the water where I wanted to fish, creating anice stealthy approach to the lake, which was gin clear. ![]() I fished away with pole, and my finest light rigs, for 2 hours, a few visitors came by, Greenheart, Banana Steve and a few members I did not know. As the ice began to form where I was trying fish, I decided to pack up. Unloading kit fromt he car, I slipped again on some ice and broke the finer tip section on my pole. So into the house, begin to heat up some lunch, I had put a casserole in the oven befor eleaving, and put on a pan for some rice, only to get it half cooked and the LPG gas bottle I use to run out. All this means when my luck changes I'm going to put some decent fish on the bank. |

| Re: Blankety Blank The ironic things is as I was driving home, I had a cd on with music from the eighties, and it was a track called "The Only way is Up", which I remember, and then remember that I got into rock music at that time. |
