| A long lunch on the Nadder I crept of at lunchtime yeasterday, and made my way down to the Nadder at Tisbury, via Steve's Tackle in Warminster to get an exchange permit. The Nadder is lovely peice of river, one of my favourite things about it is its colour, it always seems rather dark and mysterious, which always add to its appeal. I started in the swim above the road bridge, where I have always had a few fish. Banana Steve informed me of a hollow under a bush, a few yards upstream of where I usually cast to. I fished a maggot feeder in both spots and was reward with a dozen chub, none were over 1lb, but that did not matter. Here is the swim, I used to walk down a bit an cast under the bridge. ![]() More importantly I had a nice little brown trout, which gets me afew points for the species hunt. ![]() I managed to create a bit of a disturbance by hooking a snag and then loosinga fish, not huge but it seemed to quiten the swim, so I mooved to a swim downstream of the bridge, where I fancied some trotting with some traditional Avon/Grayling floats, sadly the inflow here, where a brook converges with the stream made control a bit hard for me, I think on of the sluices on the Lake at Fonthill manor had been oped as I had never seen such an inflow here. Well here's a pic. ![]() |
