Furry Feather Report. I was out on the tiles in Bath last night, along with my partner in crime, JP so it was no suprise that we were both late for the draw at Berkley Lake. Lady luck blessed us both as the two free pegs were ones we probably would have chosen. I set up my pole first, using an old float which I restored during the week in anticipation. As I had decided not to use any old can I needed to compensate. I plumbed up and set about rigging a feeder rod, when JP arrived. The clouds had kept the temps up a little, which was a blessing, I had been concerned about sun in the eyes, which can lead to some nasty headaches. Anyway, I was manning the timing and on the dot I honked the honker (true!!) and off we went, in my cas eit was my first match for some years, for others their first ever. I managed to miss my first bite then caught a small roach. My major concern was beating my mates, esp those on the forum, a Fur and Feather match is a friendly event, but I always want to do well, After a while I managed to hook on of the wildies which make Berkley lake so much fun. All in all I managed to put together a weight of just over 11lb, to come fourth, Greenheart was winner of those in the forum, and I think he was second overall. once the match was over, we made our way to a local pub and shared out the prizes. I have to thank our local tackle dealer Steve from Steve's Tackle in Warminster, along with Anchor Tackle for donating some wonderful prizes, also to the bait rep for bags of groundbait. Banana Steve also deserves some serious respect for organising it and gettingt eh whole show on the orad. Cheers all. I now have a big box of bottles of pear cider, I don't drink, but know some ladies who do................................................ .................................

Re: Furry Feather Report. It was a great day, although my catch isn't worth mentioning. However, I did win a weeks supply of Bodington, a rooster attachment for my match box (yesss more tackle lol) and some terminal tackle. It was nice to see that everybody won something and that nobody went home empty handed. A big thanks to Steve and Matt for organizing the match and prizes. P.S Matt you forgot to mention that you and I came third though in the pair- up ;-)...no thanks to me though lol __________________ There is certainly something in angling that tends to produce a serenity of the mind." - Washington Irving

A very enjoyable day out & great social, topped off by a supurb buffet at the Royal Oak, Corsley I had a mixed bag of Carp & Roach using double maggot over loosefed micro pellet. Bit well done to Steve & Matt on organising. Already looking forward to next year. __________________ Don't Judge My Path If You Haven't Walked My Journey...
