| Some action at last The last few trips out have not produced anyfish, JP and I foolishly tried chesil during the mad gales and had nowt but lost leads and rig, don't worry I know this is the freshwater side of the forum. So, you understand the need to catch something was building within us. We're both in our clubs fur and feather match in acouple of weeks, and with this in mind I put some new elastic in my pole and remembered I had not used it since last summer, so we decied to pop down to higher farm, nr Shepton Montague in somerset. First fish was a hard fighting common about 6lb, which tested my new elastic well, and gave me confidence in my knots. That fish was shortly followed buy one about 5 1/2 lb then a fw smaller fish. We failed to get to the lake until after 3, and decided to try for an hour or two. We actally fished til half 6. Using head torched to see floats and in JP's case a quivertip. Best fish in my view was a roach I had between 12 and 14 oz, which in the 'bluer' lioght of a halogen head torch was more stunning than normal. I have no pics as the wind was driving the rain horzonatlaly and I did not want to get my camera soaked. Fishing ended and we went to the pub. ![]() |
