Catfish Meet at Todber

Well for me, day 1 has ended, as I do not have bivvy, bed chair etc. Also the weather is no good, cold and wet + very bad for my astma, which is triggered by such conditions, so I have come home for the night, which is good as I am a big fan of breathing.
Sadly no fish have been caught, so far. The day started of very well for Jolly Piscator and myself. We got to the lake and found that there three swims left, JP prefered on, so I dropped into the other, leaving one the other side of banana steve free for the final rod.
I set up the Milwards pike/salmon spinning rod, its not had any action for a while and can deal with almost anything that swims, with my home dame bait the 'purple peril', my other rod I set up with a float ledger with a pair of juicy lobworms.
Whilst setting up my little dau shelter, (a teepee by the way, Banana Steve was over joyed with my pitch, glad he was a happy bunny). I saw the tip of the Milwards curve 'round, and the 'pin began to sing, sadly there was nothing ther ewhen I struck, but a few mintures later JP briefly connected with a small but hard fighting carp. Sadly since that few minutes of excitement, all of us have suffered from 'straight rod syndrome'.
I think some of them are healing themselves with ale.
I'll be back in the morning, and will report back again tmrw eve.

Congratualtions to Ben on getting adouble out late last night.
The rest of us struggled and Straight Rod Syndrome was mre prevelent than seasonal flu.
Most of us played about catching rudd/roach on a whip, thus saving a total blank.
It was however a good social, with ale etc.
Lets see some of the pics.

The Ale was indeed good. Not too sure about JP's Etc though...... Did'nt really mix with Hobgoblin & Ginger wine.....

Re: Catfish Meet at Todber

'Nuff said . Good to see everyone out there , even if most of the fish missed their invites. Cheers Steve for getting it organized .
( heard rumors that some were taking bets on whether Fullcreel's or my split cane rod would crack first on a big fish ....as this didn't happen do we qualify for the pool ? )

Re: Catfish Meet at Todber

I think JP is right, share out the pool.
I'd be up for another meet, but to a venue that is a bit less pressurized, and with a bit more stock in it.
