| not such a common day well thanks to my team mate and serial raspberry helper rich .today i got my ass back down to shillingford( hopeing maybe to suss out sea fishing somehow on weekend target yet again Common carp for the hunt arrived a tad later than planned at just before 10 and soon managed to hop along to the middle pond today and set up in the first 2 swims on corner, as still would need help if got something decent all lovely and quiet on a weekday so no alarms just wait to hear the baitrunners go ![]() ![]() was rude not to drop one in this corner ![]() fishing was tough though we tried a good groundbait and fished either scopec, halibut boilies or sweetcorn and luncheon meat over this also messed arround with a float rod for a good succession of nice 3/4 lb roach ![]() ( there are 1000,s in this pond, aparently some being removed in winter to enhance pond )but the carp were not haveing it at all dureing the main part of day eventually at 2.30 after we had both had a few indications on ledger rods, my float rod went and wow what fun , especially when in seated position and soon with some gillieing from baggie( well he can stand)it was a carp on the bank ![]() unfortunately another mirror( where are the commons this year )baggies baitrunner then went off and he had a good roach about 1lb on luncheon meat and then missed a blistering run ( god knows how) ![]() well i tried for an extension to our alloted time , but it wasnt to be oh well, looks like i may have to go back cheers baggie, was a great day, much needed ![]() ![]() dave __________________ www.exmouthsaa.co.uk 24 beers in a case and 24 hours in a day simples You won't know unless you go :D...and if you do go!! please let us know :D as thats how the forum thrives |

How much gear do you fresh water boys need exactly??? Mind you, at least there's nice flat paths from your nice level car parks.... None of the yomping over Chesil shingle on the darkside eh???? ![]() Anyway... A nice day in the end. Fishing was hard work and I even had to resort to the float rod in the end, just to avoid the blank. As it turns out, I had a nice roach on the ledger rod anyway, so I needn't have bothered. 3 missed run on the ledgers, one of which I just do not understand. The baitrunner was screaming and the handle flying round, when I lifted there was a brief resistance then nothing..... How does that work exactly??? Very frustrating. It's a nice place to fish and the owner was very chatty and friendly. All in all an extremly pleasent day. Never did see high tide though..... ![]() __________________ Right then, checklist: Rods.
