Re: TJ Stag fish

Sorry its late

I arrived at town parks on the friday night with my little nephew only 9 but wants to start fishing. Set up on peg 6. I had three rods out and a little float rod for him. It then came to dinner time when i had realised i had left all my knives and forks at home, so a little ring to the better half and 10mins later was down at the lakes with fish and chips. Very nice to.

My nephew was steadily catching roach, rudd and skimmers. After dark fell he then retired to MY bed chair so i was left playing with his float rod when i had a different bite. A little cat. As soon as i caught it tho he claimed it to be his and wanted pictures taken. I was getting run all night but no hook up. A nice 26lb cat came out and some nice double figure carp.

On sat morning after sleeping on my un hooking matt switched to a worm bait and was catching some nice stripeys untill my nephew woke up.

About 10am Banna steve, Greenheart and twiddler arrived they set up on pegs 2, 3 and 5. Shortley followed by lee and brother who were on pegs 7 and 8. Weather was warming up very nicley. Steve had some great smelling boilies which produced a nice carp close in the margins. Baggie and Pingu also arrived which was great to see hop along.

The lake was packed and alot of ground bait was goin which didnt help, fishing was very slow with line bites all night.

So steve had the only carp, no cats decided to play but a great social. A big thanks to everyone for coming down. Next time i will have to come up to you steve.

Re: TJ Stag fish

Thanks for seting up tj was good to meet you. Nice little lake with loads of hidden fetures. I did manage to hook into something think it was a carp but pulled the hook.
Was a great chance to try my new bivvy and bed chair.

Would be nice to have a meet at crockerton or berkley or even shearwater.

Re: TJ Stag fish

Well the day started great, nice and early. We left Ian’s at 6:00am and travelled down the 303 towards Paignton at a nice steady pace, so steady that Claudia feel asleep.

We arrived at 9:00am and stopped off at a cafe that Ian new, for a full English, then by 9:30, we were at the lake and by the time we booked in, Ben and Ricky Lee turned up. So we didn’t far to walk with the kit we set up in the first two pegs, Ian in one and me in the other. Claudia decided to go around the lake a little bit further.
By 12:00ish we were all set up and fishing, by the time Dave and Rich arrived both Ian and I had a few beeps and blips. But at around 2pm I had a run that was positive enough to strike on, producing this nice 16lb mirror.

TJ and Ben working out tactics

Well as the day wore on and the social got better the fishing became very hard, this didn’t stop Ian trying to pick up the local Birds.

A Fine specimen of a man

Well the weekend wore on and after a lovely dinner, we all settled down for the night, but alas no takes. By the morning, we had to be off the lake by 10am. After saying our farewells, we headed back to sunny Wiltshire.
But as we had travelled to Paignton Claudia fell asleep, she did the same on the return!

Re: TJ Stag fish

Nice one everyone, looked like lovely weather to help. Fingers crossed the Todber meet will be sunny, although I'd like some cloud cover at night to keep the temps up.
