| Hi, yesterday, I was rewarded by going fishing down my local canal (Boats Haven, Penkridge, outside the cross keys). Following not fishing for about 4-5 weeks, I was a bit rusty to start with. At every quiver of the float, I would snag so hard that the hook and the pinkies came about a foot out of the water! After a few nice bream, I calmed down, and so did all the fish. The next sign of movement was about an hour later with 2 lovely roach (about 20 cm each). Just before I was about to call it a day, I was persuaded to carry on by a beautiful Perch. It had no defects, dents, scratches etc. and it was a very confident bite. As I was packing up, I had my float in the water, (out of the way) and all of a sudden, I had a bite!!! It wasn't the best fish in the world (a small roach), but it was a nice surprise to end the session with! Tight Lines, Ryan ![]() ![]() |
