| Greenlands Weir Had a few hours fishing with Bananna Steve on the river Avon at Greenlands weir, Bradford on Avon last Saturday. ![]() ![]() Sadly not too much to report. The fishing was very difficult & the fish conspictious by their absence. There was some major demolition work of an old factory occuring just down stream & I suspect this may have scared the better resident chub off. I also think that Cormorants have played a part on this bit of river. It certainly was not a patch on it's former self when large bags of good chub & other mixed species were possible. Fishing ledgered meat & floatfished maggot, I did manage four small chub, a dace & lots of little bleak for a few species hunt points. Steve who was fishing upstream could only manage a few bleak. ![]() My best bite of the day came via a sneaky Horse Fly that bit me on the back of the leg, & i'm still suffering.... ![]() I just hope this beautiful bit of river returns to it's former glory, although with all the building work going on, i'm not confident..... __________________ "The fish and I were both stunned and disbelieving to find ourselves connected by a line." | Re: Greenlands Weir Looks nice there, is that the stretch you two went to last summer? I think the rain we've been getting might just jolly things up. Could use a few more inches I think, wash out some of the blanket weed from Foxham. |

| Re: Greenlands Weir Looks like a smashing water. Is that a Weir in the 2nd picture? Hope it returns to its former glory once the rains get there. | Re: Greenlands Weir Yes mate, it's called Greenlands weir at Bradford on avon. Sadly since the old derelict mill was converted into up-market flats, what was once free fishing is now for residents only... __________________ "The fish and I were both stunned and disbelieving to find ourselves connected by a line."
