| Slimy eels NOT! Took Moll' out for a couple of hours on the River Stour as it's local and I am on standby tonight (oh the thrill of figuring out DB2 errors) so need to be reasonably close to a PC. I ran a float trough and I set her up with a feeder rod. The river level was back down as it has been high and dirty. The river stinks and is carrying foam too. As it runs through much of the West Midlands old heavy industry areas it's hardly suprising really. The swim was immediately below the wier on the Stourton Castle stretch (formally near the Stew Poney pub). I caught a few dace and some gudgeon. Moll was catching gudgeon and bootlace eels, which for some obscure reason , she was delighted with. I was cursing a bit as I came to unhook them, slimy blo@dy things, but they weren't NO SLIME. Other than that they were perfect little brown eels , actually pretty nice looking as it turned out but lacking slime. Seems odd to me, anyone know what's going on? __________________ Just remember, not all the heroes died. www.helpforheroes.org.uk |
